Get To Know Doug & Ruth Peirce

We are excited to announce that Doug Peirce has accepted the invitation to serve as Pastor of Congregational Care with us at Trinity.

Doug and his wife, Ruth, have been married for 52 years, have two children and 7 grandchildren. They each came to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior in 1971, after a neighbor in Niles invited them to participate in a home Bible study.

The next year, Doug was called into pastoral ministry and served as the interim pastor of Huntley Memorial Church (Barron Lake, MI) for two years. They spent the next 22 years building a civil engineering and land surveying business instead of, as Doug puts it, “heeding God’s call.” In 1994, the Lord once again called Doug into pastoral ministry, and this time he listened. Within two weeks, they sold the business to their employees and headed off to seminary.

The next 24 years saw fruitful pastoral ministry in churches across the country. Doug served as an associate pastor at Calvary Baptist Church (South Bend) and Grace Baptist Church (Granger). Along the way, he completed a D.Min., with an emphasis in Pastoral Counseling at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In 2009, they headed west to begin almost a decade of helping to rebuild small churches. This journey took them to Sidney, NE, and on to Cheyenne, WY, before they finally ended up serving a small church in Pueblo, CO.
