Three Things...
Here’s a transcript of that video in case you’d prefer to read this latest update:
In this short update, you’ll receive an update about Sunday morning, a reminder about an important next step to take today, and a story about my fearless two year old. Let’s get started...
First, be with us on Sunday at 9 & 10:30 as we wrap up our series about what to do When Life Gets Tough. Have you missed a week or two? That’s okay? Catch up with the series here.
This Sunday, we’ll dive into the life of Jeremiah, and look at how God is calling us to handle the tough assignment he’s given us. Just a note, there will not be message notes available this week. We’ll pick that up again soon.
Next, so far, we have received over 150 responses to the church survey we launched on Sunday. That’s incredible! As a reminder, we’re doing this as a way to check our pulse… to get a sense of where we are as a congregation. We are asking every Trinity household to complete a short survey that will help us shape our next steps as we shepherd and care for one another. It only takes a couple of minutes, and you can do it right from your phone. Share your feedback today by tapping this link.
Last night, I was carrying my two year old, Lincoln, up to bed...as we walked past the front door he looked out at my wife’s car and said frantically, “daddy, there’s a monster in mommy’s car! There’s a monster in mommy’s car, let’s go get it!” That sentence pretty much sums up Lincoln for ya. He’s a fearless little guy ready for pretty much anything (except eating broccoli).
In that moment I saw a glimpse of the sort of courage that he’s going to need to do well in the world as he gets older. But that courage only matters if it is rooted in the Lord.
When David stands up to face Goliath he boldly declares his faith that the giant will fall. Unlike the popular narrative today that we ought to slay the giants in our way on our own power, David knew that the victory that day would only happen if God willed it. David placed his faith and trust in the Lord, and raced toward the giant with the courage only God could provide.
Guys, are you ready for battle? There may not be monsters in your car or giants on your front lawn, but there are obstacles in your way for sure.
Are you prepared to tackle what you’re dealing with at home, at work, or in your community? is your courage rooted in yourself, or in Jesus?
I want you to join me on February 6th for the No Regrets conference. This free, half-day event is going to help you consider how to live with the sort of God-granted courage David demonstrated on the battle field that day. Come hear from pastors and leaders about what it takes to live courageously.
Our world needs faithful men of courage now perhaps more than ever. Are you ready to stand up? Tap the link to register.
