Weekly Update - October 18
-
In this week's update we're gonna cover two great events for guys, one huge event for women, and the return of Bible260 reflections. But first...Christmas came early this year and there's lots to celebrate, so let's get to it.
Last week, we rolled out Operation Christmas Child, and boy did you all deliver big time. Over 100 boxes were taken and more were built online. That's over 100 kids who will receive a gift from Trinity and hear the Gospel, just one day in! That's outstanding! If you didn't grab a box, be sure to pick one up this Sunday in the lobby, or click here to build your box online.
The good news doesn't stop there, but first...some context. We've experienced lots of growth over the past several years, and we're outgrowing our parking lot and the space in the gym. The Board has directed our team to take steps to launch a third worship service. That will be a big undertaking, and there's a lot to be done before we're ready for that, but one of the initial steps is creating an Overflow Space during our modern service to help us get through these next several months.
This space will be located right here in Room 119 in the gym, and it will feature the same music and teaching in a more intimate atmosphere. As we've been working on the plan for this space, we knew we would need a handful of modern service attendees to step up and be team players, opting to sit in Overflow so that others could have their seats in the gym.
As Pastor Josh shared at the congregational meeting, addressing these growth challenges will mean lots of us pitching in to do our part, so we invited a bunch of folks to consider this option for a 4-week trial beginning this Sunday, and we've been blown away by the response. Registration filled up within 48 hours, and our standby list grows daily. A huge thanks to the 60+ people who have committed to giving up their seats in the gym, and helping us out for this trial period. By choosing to worship in this new space, they're not just solving a logistical problem – they're actively participating in the growth of our church family and making room for more people to join us and to hear the Gospel.
Next, Trinity Men are invited to join us on Tuesday the 29th for Serve Hope. Swing by in the afternoon to help prepare dinner, or later to serve or do dishes, or perhaps you can plan on joining us for cornhole with Hope Residents at 7:30. Whichever option best fits your schedule, you'll be making an impact on the lives of the Hope men, and getting an opportunity to connect with others from Trinity at the same time. Guys, you can serve at Hope on the 29th, but our team will serve up BACON on Saturday, November 9th at Breakfast with Brothers. Enjoy a delicious meal and hear teaching from Pastor Jason Kelley. He'll share about God’s grace and ongoing work in his life in areas such as trust, freedom, worship, and character development as a man, husband, and dad. So, join us for a great meal and fellowship, and Pastor Jason will challenge you to keep your focus on the Lord and seek Him above all else. So, will you join us for breakfast? Click here to sign up.
Speaking of Pastor Jason, we've got another round of Bible260 reflections on the way starting on Tuesday. Jason will be sharing insights from 2 Samuel and we excited for this chance for you to hear from him and get to know him a bit. So if you're not already subscribed to that list, click here to sign up.
So, there you have it. A bunch to celebrate and a few fantastic next steps for you to take in the days ahead. Thanks for being part of the Trinity family with us. See you Sunday as we dive into Romans 5 together.
