Saturday, August 29th
9:30 - 11:30 am in the Gym
Pack 50,000 nutrient-rich meals for children in need. Families welcome. No experience? No problem. Assembly-line style. It’s a party with a purpose.
We're raising $15,500 for the Summer Outreach Offering to pack 50,000 meals. Any funds beyond that initial goal will go first to support Serve South Bend, and then our Benevolence Fund — overflow stays local.
Our Partner
We've partnered with Kids Around the World (KATW), who empower children through food, play, and story. They've sourced the playground equipment, and they'll distribute every meal we pack alongside the gospel message. One vision, one partner, maximum impact.

Choose your shift and role — whatever fits your schedule.
Assembly — Assemble and build playground structures. All skill levels. Training provided.
Support — Materials logistics, setup, cleanup, and support.
Multiple Shifts Available:
AM (9:00 am – 12:00 pm)
PM (1:00 pm – 4:00 pm)
Commit to one Saturday or both — whatever you can do. You'll work alongside your church family, discover you're capable of more than you thought, and build something that will bless kids in our community for years. This project is open to ages 13+
Here are some of the design concepts for the playground you’ll help build:
Pack 50,000 nutrient-rich meals for children in need — assembly-line style, no experience required. Bring your kids, your friends, or come solo. You'll see the direct impact of your hands and feel the joy of serving alongside your church family. Kids as young as 5 can help pack meals. Younger siblings can come, but they'll need parental supervision.
Multiple Roles to Choose From:
Set Up Team (August 28th - Likely Late Afternoon) — If you want to help prepare the space the day before, we need setup volunteers. Specific time communicated closer to event.
Packing Team (August 29th, 9:30–11:30 am) — This is the main event. You and your kids will work assembly-line style, packing meals. This is where families with kids belong. High energy, meaningful, and you'll see the direct impact of your work.
Chair Set Up Team (August 29th - Approximately Noon) — Help to reset the gym for Sunday morning services after the packing event concludes.

Not at all. We have roles for all skill levels. Assembly includes training. Support helps keep everything running. Every role is essential, and you'll be provided training and support to do your job well.
Assembly involves assembling and building the playground structures. Support includes materials, logistics, setup, cleanup, and keeping operations running smoothly. Both are essential and rewarding.
Absolutely. One morning shift, one afternoon shift, one full day, both Saturdays — whatever fits your schedule. We need you at whatever level you can commit.
Yes. The playground build is open to volunteers ages 13 and up. The meal-packing event on August 29th is open to all ages — kids as young as 5 can participate.
Yes! The meal-packing event is perfect for families. Kids as young as 5 can help pack meals alongside adults.
Absolutely. The KATW team has designed this event so that kids ages 5+ can serve meaningfully. Your child won't slow things down — they'll be an important part of the team.
The playground will be built on the northeast lawn, next to the red barn and the Outdoor Fellowship Area.
Meal packing will happen in the Gym at Trinity on Saturday, August 29th, 9:30–11:30 am.

Nope! Writing a check is perfectly fine. Be sure to include Summer Outreach Offering on the memo line, and you can drop it off in one of the boxes on a Sunday morning, or mail it to the office.
