Revelation 7

November 1, 2022

“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice: ‘Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.’” (v9-10)

This is the clearest picture in Scripture of what the population of Heaven will be: human beings from every nation, tribe and tongue, which is another reason why there is no room among God’s people for racism. The Kingdom of God will include people from every people group on the planet, who put their trust in Jesus, including the 7,000 people groups who have not yet heard the name of Jesus. This vision will come to pass. The only question is whether or not we will get to experience the joy that comes from participating in the fulfillment of this vision.

Father, I praise You that Christ came to redeem people from every tribe and every tongue – so that Your Kingdom would be characterized by a kaleidoscope of ethnicities. Forgive us for forgetting the reach of Your redemption and the goal of the mission: to see EVERY tribe and tongue represented in Heaven. Help me (and our Trinity family) to keep growing in our praying for, giving to and being part of this Revelation 7:9 vision. Give us the heart to play a part in the mission of people from every tribe, tongue and nation standing before Your throne – worshiping the One whose death and resurrection from the grave has made a way for us to be a part of Your glorious Kingdom.

Use the following steps to guide your daily time with the Lord…

  • Start with prayer. Ask God to open your heart to help you understand and receive His Word.

  • Read and observe the passage carefully. As needed, read a second Bible version to help with understanding.

    ➡️ What does it say?

What does this passage teach me about God? What does it say about my sinful nature and my need for God’s grace? How does this passage point to Jesus?

  • ➡️ What am I going to do about it?

Does this passage include a promise to claim, an action/attitude to avoid/embrace, or a principle to apply? How can this truth apply to my life? What could my next step be? How can I share this with others? Is there a verse or section of Scripture I need to memorize?
