Revelation 5
October 28, 2022
“Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: ‘To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!’” (v13)
Jesus, the Lamb, who was slain on the earth, is the Object of worship in Heaven. Jesus goes from being mocked, beaten, spit on, and crucified at the cross - to exalted and praised by “every creature” (v13) in all of creation. And our worship will be forever inspired by His “ransom of us by His blood” (v9), and our gratitude for Him reconciling us to God, adopting us as sons and daughters into His family, and making us heirs in His Kingdom!
Lord Jesus, having received Your grace and forgiveness, how can I do anything other than join in this eternal chorus of worship? I add my voice to this song today, saying with the host of Heaven: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation…Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!” (v9, 12)
