Revelation 4
October 27, 2022
“Each of the four living creatures…never stop saying: ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.’ Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: ‘You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.’” (v8-11)
What a picture of the greatness and glory of our God. The creatures in His presence never stop saying, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty” (v8). For all eternity, they “thank Him” (v9), “fall before Him in worship” (v10), “lay their crowns before Him” (v11a), and declare His “worthiness” (v11b).
Father, I praise You because You are worthy to receive this kind of worship. Thank You for the picture of what is happening in heaven, so that I strive to reflect this kind of worship of You here on earth. May I honor You like these verses describe: giving You thanks for every good gift, worshiping You in full body humility, even falling down before You and praising You, and always seeking to give You the credit and the crown for any accolade or achievement that I receive.
