Weekly Update - September 2

  • I walked into Costco last week and was flabbergasted (we don't use that word enough) to hear CHRISTMAS MUSIC. It was August 26th!!!

Sure, time flies these days, and it's hard to believe summer is coming to a close, but we've got LOTS going on at Trinity before we get to Christmas. This week's update will touch on details for the Holy Sexuality Conference, Serve South Bend, and the launch of our Fall Groups.

First, we are three weeks away from the Holy Sexuality Conference. We've had some questions about the event over the past week, so I want to take a moment to address them.

Does this really apply to me? Yes, it does. Chances are pretty high that at some point today, walking down the street, scrolling through social, watching Netflix, or talking with a friend or family member, you're going to encounter a view about human sexuality that doesn't align with God's plan. Join us for the conference!

Is this conference only in the morning? No! We've put together a fantastic set of afternoon sessions as well! Here's how your day will look. Attend a service on Sunday morning and hear the Yuan family's testimony about they have experience redemption and grace.

Go home, grab lunch, mow the lawn and come BACK for the afternoon sessions that start at 3 pm. Come learn about how our understanding of being made in the image of God needs to inform the way we understand our identity.

We'll have two sessions at 4 pm. The first, featuring teaching from Dr. Leon and Angela Yuan, will cover what parents can do when prodigal children break their hearts. During the other 4 pm session, Dr. Christopher Yuan will help us unpack six passages that handle the issue of homosexuality and same-sex relationships.

And finally, at 5 pm, Dr. Yuan will wrap up the event with a session all about helping us to understand a gospel-centric approach to sexuality. This going to be a full day of learning together that you do not want to miss.

Can I catch the replay online? Nope! While the morning session will be available as part of our regular live stream, the afternoon sessions will not be available later on. DVR the Bears game, and plan on joining us for the whole event.

What about my kids? Have a teenager? They should be sitting right next to you for these conference sessions. Have younger kids? We've got free childcare available!

Like Pastor Joshua shared on Sunday, this is a huge event for our church family, and I really hope to see you there. Tap the button below to register so we can save you a seat.

Just two weeks after the conference, we'll head out to Serve South Bend (October 8th). This church-wide service event is all about putting our love for God and our neighbors into action. We have a variety of projects and time slots available, and even some that will work great for kids. So, tap the button below to read through the project descriptions and then sign up to join a team!

Fall also means that a new season of group opportunities has arrived. Ladies, our Fall Women's Bible studies kick off in a couple of weeks and will be studying the book of Ecclesiastes. You can choose from a Tuesday evening or a Wednesday morning option. If you're looking for community, a way to go deeper, and to find meaning in a world of passing pursuits this is the study for you.

Guys, it would be wise for you to check out the latest installment of Guy Talk, which kicks off in October. Come to hear teaching from Pastor Craig from Ecclesiastes.

We're launching Season 3 of NT260 in just a couple of weeks. If you're not currently in a group and would like to join us for this final push through the New Testament, tap the button below.

Well, as you can tell, there's quite a bit happening around here this Fall, and I'm so glad you're going to be part of it with us. See you Sunday morning as we continue our journey through Joshua together.
