Acts 20
March 3, 2022
“I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace.” (v24)
What a clear statement of purpose for one’s life! Paul’s life is not his own. He belongs to Jesus, and so lives for His purpose: to tell others the good news of God’s grace. Any other achievements, accomplishments or accolades are worth nothing to Paul. Paul is free from self-centered goals and focused on the mission of Jesus!
Father, I praise You that the gospel not only has the power to forgive me the penalty of my sin, but the power to free me from the power of my sin and selfishness. I pray that the gospel would grow to be so precious to me - that all of my goals in life would be a distant second (in my heart) to the goal of living a life that testifies to Jesus and what He’s done for me!

Read and observe the passage carefully. As needed, read a second Bible version to help with understanding.
➡️ What does it say?
What does this passage teach me about God? What does it say about my sinful nature and my need for God’s grace? How does this passage point to Jesus?
-
➡️ What am I going to do about it?
Does this passage include a promise to claim, an action/attitude to avoid/embrace, or a principle to apply? How can this truth apply to my life? What could my next step be? How can I share this with others? Is there a verse or section of Scripture I need to memorize?
