Acts 28

March 15, 2022

“For two whole years Paul stayed there [Rome] in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!” (v30-31‬)

The Book of Acts concludes on a two-fold note of faithfulness:

  1. The Lord has been faithful to keep His promise to Paul, that he would be His witness in Rome (23:11).

  2. Paul is faithful in response: sharing Christ with anyone and everyone who crosses his path (28:31).

Father, I praise You for your great faithfulness. You keep all Your promises. Nothing can thwart Your sovereign purposes for my life. And because I belong to You (through Christ), I can enjoy the peace that comes from knowing Your faithfulness. Guard me, though, from a peace that leads to apathy, complacency or entitlement. Instead, I pray that You would stir up in me gratitude for Your faithfulness that would inspire in me a faithfulness in response - taking full advantage of those opportunities to live for You and be a witness for You - wherever You plant me!

Use the following steps to guide your daily time with the Lord…

  • Start with prayer. Ask God to open your heart to help you understand and receive His Word.

  • Read and observe the passage carefully. As needed, read a second Bible version to help with understanding.

    ➡️ What does it say?

What does this passage teach me about God? What does it say about my sinful nature and my need for God’s grace? How does this passage point to Jesus?

  • ➡️ What am I going to do about it?

Does this passage include a promise to claim, an action/attitude to avoid/embrace, or a principle to apply? How can this truth apply to my life? What could my next step be? How can I share this with others? Is there a verse or section of Scripture I need to memorize?
