Luke 2
January 4, 2022
Shepherds were the low men on the totem pole of 1st-century Jewish society. But they were the first to get to hear the good news about Jesus, and the first to see Jesus. Instead of that experience of God’s grace puffing up their spiritual pride, though, the shepherds responded by glorifying God and praising Him for the grace of being invited into this glorious story!
Lord, thank You for revealing to me the glorious good news of Jesus and His salvation. Forgive me for so often slipping into making life all about me. Open my eyes anew to the wonder that You have invited me into the story of God becoming flesh to save me! May my response today to this good news be like that of the shepherds: to glorify and praise You for all You have done!
